Mr. Kevin Zhang, Board Chairman, Osmunda Medical Devices Consulting Co., Ltd., presented his speech of “Challenges and Opportunities to Medical Instrument Industry from MAH System.” There is an issue for medical enterprises. Pre-approval is needed. A product cannot be marketed although it is already completed in production. The whole review process takes 3 to 8 years. This is even longer for medicine. It takes a whole 10 years process to develop a new drug. Medical instrument also faces the same issue. Therefore, previous control process in China was very troublesome. The average successful rate for investments in type II and III medical instruments is about 20%, with industry idle resources higher than RMB50 billion each year. China implemented modification over drug and medical instrument review system last year. There are 5 pilot cites of Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Tianjin. Implementation across the country may commence in the 1st quarter or the 2nd half of next year. Launching of MAH system changes innovation for production organization measures as well as industry development trend. This also speeds up marketing time for medical instrument products, facilitates technology research transformation for medical instrument, reduces wastes in society resources, enhances capital utilization efficiency, promotes medical instrument industry development and allows ensure further subdivision and efficiency for medical instrument industry chain. Osmunda creates the world’s first CDMO + CRO medical instrument industry platform which offers one-stop services throughout the whole process.
