Huge Success for 2019 “Unlocking TRIZ Innovation Methodology”

Shanghai in July is already a wonderful world. In this season, The 2019 “Unlocking TRIZ Innovative Methods & Application” seminar, which was hosted by Entrepreneur Elite (International) Club and its strategic collaboration partner SpringIP Technology with assistance from Fengxian Comprehensive Bonded Zones of Shanghai Fengpu Industrial Park and support from SAP Labs China, GCR Enterprise Services of Microsoft (China) Co., Ltd., CDP Group and Grant Thornton on July 12th, 2019 as well as “Business Environment Promotion for Fengxian Comprehensive Bonded Zones of Shanghai Fengpu Industrial Park” have obtained huge success.

Nowadays, the upgrade wave of “effective connection” has already risen between industry upstream and downstream. This allows new technologies of big data, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence to re-shape industry lifelines and they have become issues concerned by numerous domestic/offshore managers. How do we utilize these new technologies and new mindsets to combine TRIZ innovative methods & applications with technology innovation against the backdrop of digital time and provide assistance for industry transformation?

Two industry heave-weight guest speakers combined big data with various cases in their analysis of TRIZ Innovation Methods & Applications and technology innovation patterns from different perspectives of real world practices and company strategy. They received heated responses from nearly 50 distinguished guests.

Dr. Eugene Hsiao used simple and easy means to analyze rules and cases for innovation. His speech added new life to TIRZ methodology which is almost 70 years. Several industry renowned entrepreneurs led group discussions and played aggressive roles in “innovation methodology” and presented wonderful comments in this argument of transformation and upgrading. Attending guests listened to the speech, participated in team simulation, presented real-life cases and participated in TRIZ issue solving. 


Mr. Benjamin Tzeng, Board Chairman, Norbar: I think today’s class is very interesting. Specifically, teacher Hsiao presented a lot examples and innovation methodologies which are very valuable to our technology innovation. Of course there are numerous methodologies in researching this field. I have one question for him. This is a problem-solving question. That is, how do we solve our problems in factory? Why do we choose TRIZ? I don’t understand this because there are so many solutions to problems. I need to do some research after this class. As for “define” mentioned by teacher Hsiao, this is something to which management need to pay attention. I really agree with that point. 



Mr. Yu Xiangdong, Deputy Chief Engineer, Automotive R&D Center Chief Expert, Guizhou Changjiang Automotive Co., Ltd.:

I have heard about TRIZ for several times. I heard that this is a good theory. But I haven’t applied it before. Techer Hsiao’s materials today are very good. However, it may take one week or even one month of training to really understand TRIZ theory.  Today is a good start. Thank you teacher Hsiao for his sharing!

Mr. Wei Yaodong, Deputy General Manager for China Automotive Steering Business Unit of NSK (China) Investment Co., Ltd. : I want to thank teacher Hsiao today. It is the first time that I have learned about TRIZ. Today’s sharing allowed me to have more expansion of thoughts. I need time to assimilate what I learned today to see if how I can apply this to my task. Thank you very much.


Mr. Peter Wang, General Manager of Penn Engineering Automotive Fasteners (Kunshan) Co., Ltd.:

TRIZ concept is new to me. I have never heard about it before. Today I’ve learned some of the concept and I will spend 2 to 3 weeks to assimilate what this concept is all about. Thank you.


Mr. Zhou Hengming, Vice President for Nuclear Medicine Department of Sinotau Pharmaceutical Group: My comment today is that two conflicts – physical conflict and system conflict – you just mentioned actually come from very powerful parameter analysis because I studied physics. This tool includes lots of physical theory analysis and technicality. To me, I can apply TRIZ methodology to solve technology innovation issue in my work. 


Miss Sufan Xu, R&D Director, RENA (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.: Today is the first for me to learn TRIZ systematically. I think it’s very useful, especially for inspiration to R&D and engineering design people. There is a close relationship between examples raised by teacher Xiao today and our industry. I need to go back and assimilate what I learned today. I hope that I will have a chance to learn from teacher Xiao again.


Mr. Eric Liu, co-founder of SpringIP Technology Co., Ltd.: Teacher Xiao’s TRIZ is actually a very famous innovation method nowadays. We already have related discussions with both Suzhou and Beijing. Beijing has conducted numerous project studies on TRIZ to explore how to introduce this into real business world. As you all now, China now has a very good relationship with Russia. Theories with major contents of Russia have also received support from many domestic policies. Teacher Xiao mentioned that major multinational corporations such as Samsung or some U.S. important businesses have already applied this model for a long time. We can utilize this powerful theory to connect our whole industry with multinational corporations or with domestic technologies and market strategies of our own in solving problems. For instance, our engineers who do not have this capability will be able to utilize this theory to solve many of their projects. If possible, I hope we can all spend some time to understand more about TRIZ if we have a chance to do so.


Mr. Benson Song, Deputy Secretary-General of Entrepreneur Elite (International) Club: I’d like to thank teacher Xiao for his wonderful lecture today. This is the first time I learn about TRIZ. During the lecture, I was thinking if it is possible to conduct screening on certain industries instead of the whole database. As for utilizing TRIZ methodology in solving innovation and product problems, I think that’s very interesting. Going forward, Entrepreneur Elite (International) Club may introduce TRIZ methodology to industries for training to specifically enhance industry overall research and innovation levels.
